What is Design?

Design is everywhere and can be defined in many different ways. It can be referred to the way in which the parts that make up an object are put together. Every object has it's own design whether it's found in nature or man made. Design 'is making things better for people' - Richard Seymour.

Behind every design there is always a concept, an idea some sort of reason why the design was made/designed in a specific way. No matter how beautiful a design is if it doesn't fit the clients needs it still wont be good. For example when Henry Ford started designing millions of Model T cars people stopped buying them for there own reasons such as someone wanting more speed, others wanting more comfort and etc. Finding out what the customers needs are is the first stage for a designer so they can build up their creativity and try and fulfil all their needs which will make them want and buy.
